To minimize empty calories, sugar intake, and processing, avoid/limit:
- Hyperpalatable snack foods like Cheez-its and potato chips
- Processed carbs and heavy starches like breads, pastas, crackers, potato salad
- Skip liquid sugar and say no to soda!
- Limit dessert intake and savor the sweets you do eat
Remember – holidays are for spending time with family and friends. Don’t be too hard on yourself! Don’t let the stress of eating ruin your holiday fun. If you “fall off the wagon” for the day, just hop back on the next day!
