In the presentation I highlighted the importance of eating a nutrient dense while limiting the intake of processed foods.
Eating the rainbow ensures that you get adequate micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) in your diet. Vitamins and minerals help your body run to it’s highest capacity.⠀
For example, over 300 metabolic reactions require magnesium as an enzymatic cofactor. It’s estimated that over 50% of Americans are not eating adequate amounts of magnesium in their diets. To promote a healthy metabolism process be sure to eat plenty of magnesium rich foods (e.g. leafy greens, almonds, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate, full-fat dairy yogurt).
I challenge you to think about the nutrient density of your diet throughout the day. Have different colored fruits and vegetables at your meals and snacks!
